We are really excited about the next release celebrating the 10th anniversary of Ferry Ultra´s album „The Homeless Funkers“. Parisian selector und DJ fantastique Young Pulse has chosen „A little soul“ featuring the outerwordly voice from the late Melva Houston to give this an uptempo soul treatment. Melva Houston was a Stax records mainstay and has recorded with Isaac Hayes, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett and Sam & Dave just to mention a few. Ferry Ultra got Melva in the studio after her performance at the prestigious Baltic Soul Weekender, the German equivalent to Southport Weekender, and they came up with „A little soul“. Young Pulse, who is a Glitterbox and Defected Broadcast regular, has given this stone cold classic a modern, yet soulful twist which works amazingly on dance floors. What we all need is a little soul…...
