The adventurous new single "Uska Dara" featuring legendary singer Eartha Kitt does not only mark an impressive return to the dancefloor but also means a smart & groovy tribute to his turkish roots at the same time. "Uska Dara" is CAN7's first vital sign in almost a decade. After heaps of highly acclaimed remix & production work for big names like Moloko, DeLaSoul, Bootsy Collins and many others plus a much compiled original album ("Safari Club", dedicated to his soul & funk upbringing), Levent focussed more on sideprojects but always kept the CAN7 vibe alive. "Uska Dara" originally (üsküdara) is a classic turkish poem from the 1950s known & recited by every local child. Levent unearthed it at some point, messed with it and chose Eartha Kitt's s vocal rendition for its charming accent and positive vibration. The Peppermint Jam release includes nice & effective remix contributions by Hans Nieswandt, Levthand and Umani. These days, CAN7 is all about thinking global & acting local!
